Strabismus (Squint) Clinic

Strabismus (Squint) Clinic

Glaucoma is known as the “Silent Thief of Sight” because it often develops without symptoms. Our glaucoma clinic focuses on early detection and lifelong management.

Squint, medically called strabismus, is a condition where both eyes do not look in the same direction. It can occur in children as well as adults.

Common Signs

  • One eye turns inward or outward
  • Eyes do not move together
  • Tilting or turning the head to see
  • Closing one eye while looking
  • Double vision in some adults
  • Poor vision in one eye in some children

Squint Treatment

Treatment depends on the patient’s age, type of squint, and cause. It may include glasses, amblyopia treatment, eye exercises in selected cases, or squint surgery.

Early treatment is particularly important in children because untreated squint can affect normal vision development.

When Should You See a Doctor?

If your child’s eye frequently turns in or out, or if an adult develops a new squint or double vision, an eye examination should be done.
